C25K Update: Week 4 Repeat - Not failing miserably
Week 4 Day 1 (Repeat)
My repeat of Week 4 Day 1 was far more successful than my first attempt, I did all but the last 30 seconds of the last run as I ran out of route lol just paced around the apartment complex and did some yoga for my cooldown, so will need to extend my area a bit for next run. My legs are recovering far quicker after the runs and no puffy knees so definitely think repeating Week 3 & 4 was the right choice. I've a new personal best pace of 15:01 mins per mile too 😊 Still room for improvement so we'll see how I get on the rest of the week before I decide whether to take the plunge into Week 5.
Week 4 Day 2 (Repeat)
Week 4 Day 2 (Repeat) - Adjusted my route through the housing estates so I didn't run out of road this time. Challenging but not too hard. 3 Personal records recorded on my Garmin last night Longest "Run" 2.63km, Best time for 1km 9:04 mins and Best time for 1 mile 14:47 mins. I did cardio and strength training before my run which warmed me up nicely and no pain, just the normal muscle soreness associated with a tough workout. So I am quite pleased with that
Week 4 Day 3 (Repeat)
Wow it was hot today, even with factor 30 on I burned a little on my shoulders. I normally run in the mornings on weekends, but I had family visiting Ireland for their first time so I was pretty busy during the day and had a birthday bash to organise for a friend in the afternoon so it was around 10:30pm before I got out to do my C25K run, it was still quite light, and was a lot cooler by that point. I skipped my usual video workout warm-up and just got straight into the program, I completed it in full at a fairly steady pace so I will move on to Week 5 on Tuesday. Longest "Run" Personal Record: 2.65km.
