Week 1 - December Goals - The festive period is upon us.

This time of year it can be easy to give into temptation especially in the Northern Hemisphere where it's the perfect weather for hibernation.

I am determined to try and keep to some sort of semblance of my routine so I don't spiral out of control and cave into long nights hiding out under a blanket in front of the tv for hours on end.

So this is my second month of doing a countdown goal challenge, I've eased up a bit on myself this month to make it challenging but achievable, in November some of the goals I set were a little too strict and didn't work with life. So I re-evaluated some of them, kicked others and added some different ones too.

The only thing that I have yet to complete or have struggled with this week is the yoga and stretching which is in fact one of the biggest things that helped in my recovery from my back injury last year, so this is something I can continue to try and improve on.

In the previous months I had also struggled with my calorie count, I am fairly sure as I've mentioned in other posts that this was down to skipping a few breakfasts and not getting as much protein as normally, so I am gradually looking at upping my protein intake and making sure I get my breakfast at work Mon-Fri. So far so good, since I implemented this I've been pretty much back on track.

Full details of the stats from Week 1 will be added to the Countdown page on Monday when my Garmin Connect & MFP accounts are all synced.

UPDATE: Week 1 downfalls - Missed a strength training and yoga session and average calorie count was a little higher than planned - 80 cals above my window of 1650-1750 but still puts me around 300 cals below maintenance, just need to tweak a little bit and stop giving into festive temptations so easily. Other than that, pretty pleased with the week.
