Today was a good day!

Today was a good day, not because I have hit a goal weight, not because I've lost inches off my waist and not because I feel any slimmer, (especially after the Domino's pizza I had for lunch), today is a good day because I confirmed that my hard work is paying off and there's no better motivation to continue it than that. I've just come back from an appointment with my lovely chiropractor (Thanks Yvonne at Douglas Chiropractic) it was my first appointment since I started my weight loss journey.

Last year was the first time I'd ever been to a chiropractor and the first time I'd had any major issues with my back. I had recurring problems with it, partly down to a fall, but further exaggerated by my lack of exercise and increasing waistline.

There were a couple of times when I could barely tie my shoes because of the pain and discomfort and whilst the chiropractor managed to adjust things back to where they should be, I knew deep down it would just keep happening until I did something about it.

My last appointment is what pushed me to start doing this properly, I had a gait scan and we discovered one leg was bearing more weight than the other which was throwing me all out of alignment, so I decided I needed to start strength training and stretching to improve the muscles in my back/legs and lose weight so it was putting less pressure on it and my other joints. Thanks to HASFIT for the fantastic free Youtube videos that got me started off too.

It seems all my good work is paying off, my back is a lot stronger, it's still a little weak in places but nothing a bit more resistance training won't fix. My feet are also starting to distribute my weight more evenly, its still not 100% but hopefully if I keep it up I can correct it all.

So I've had a bit of an adjustment and I will hopefully not be back to see Yvonne until my next 10kg is off to see how I'm doing.
